The Duke of Edinburgh is an activity that is solely motivated by the student’s enthusiasm however a member of staff is on hand to assist and oversee the students’ progress. The students are responsible for preparing and organising the activities that are required to complete the Award as set out by the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
The Student Representative Council is an elected group from Years 1 to 12, who represent the voice of the students. They meet weekly to discuss issues affecting students and solutions to these issues. The role of the SRC is to organise events which promote a positive school environment. The SRC is elected by the students during the first few weeks of school each year.
Hills Grammar Student Leaders are appointed in our Junior and Senior Schools to support and lead the student body, promote a sense of identity, spirit and belonging to their respective House, to act as an advocate and voice for all students and to represent the public image of the School and uphold the traditions and values of the School. There are many opportunities to become a part of the Student Leadership team at Hills Grammar as Prefect, Co-Curricular Captain, House Captain and School Captain.
Students have the opportunity to participate in many Service based activities both within our campus and in the wider community through interacting with the elderly residents at local Aged Care Facilities through to volunteering to be part of our Early Bird Reader group or assisting with our smallest students at our Early Childhood Education Centre or those who require more assistance at our Learning Enrichment Centre.
