Just about a full week of sport was had last week without any disruptions due to weather. The highlight of the week was on Wednesday afternoon when over 100 students engaged in our summer training run by the Netball and Football clubs with the T3 Football Program in action and the commencement of the K-2 Introduction to Netball Program.
The Hills Grammar Netball Club is running a four week program of netball skills and drills for the K-2 students that will hopefully encourage our younger students to consider the Net Set Go Netball program in 2021. Our Netball Club is currently rebuilding and it has been very pleasing to see the older students involved with coaching and the encouragement of the next generation of netballers coming through. To register for this program please email tanya.zelasko@hillsgrammar.nsw.edu.au.
The T3 Football Program continues to offer our footballers an excellent opportunity to continue to improve their skills and we are certainly seeing the benefit of this in our Junior Football teams who participate in the Primary HZSA (Hills Zone Sports Association) Competition.
The HZSA Competition is seeing some excellent results with wins last week for both our boys and girls Year 3 and 4 Football teams, both the Year 5 and 6 boys Basketball teams having wins and our girls Touch Football team having a 2-2 draw. All teams are in contention for the finals in a couple of weeks and we look forward to the possibility of some Grand Final appearances in the last week of November.
Our Secondary HZSA (Hills Zone Sports Association) teams are also travelling well with our Junior Futsal team only having their first loss last week 4-3, whilst the Senior boys having a win and draw sees both teams in contention for the Semi-Finals. Our Touch Football girls have been unlucky not to play for the last few weeks due to the ground closures however we hope that they can get on the field in the next few weeks and have some wins.
Cross Country/Fun Run prizes have now been ordered for those students who raised money for Ronald McDonald House and we are hopeful that we will have them by the last week of November to issue to students.
