Evacuation Protocols

We have updated the School Evacuation Protocols, in the event that we need to evacuate the campus. Please read below or download as pdf.

In the event of an emergency that required the evacuation of the Hills Grammar Campus during a School day, the following protocols would take effect.

All Hills Grammar families are requested to read and review this plan.

Evacuation Communications

Once an emergency is declared, Hills Grammar families will receive

  1. an email from the Principal advising that an evacuation is required and to collect their child/ren from School Campus as per the following
    • Surname A to L | K to 12 Families | Gate 1 – Collection
    • Surname M to Z | K to 12 Families | Gate 2 – Collection
    • ECEC | Gate 3 – Collection

Click here for a map if you are unsure of the location of the gates.

  1. a text message, alerting them to the email and requesting they take action
  2. for Junior School families – a notification on Seesaw alerting them to the email and requesting they take action
  3. once the site is cleared, families will be updated via the above methods, plus the School Facebook page.

Unable to Collect Your Child

For any families that are unable to pick up their child/ren up within a 90 minute time frame of the evacuation being communicated should contact the Student Office on 9654 5215 or via email hg.studentoffice@hillsgrammar.nsw.edu.au to advise collection arrangements. It is most likely that in an emergency situation, OOSH will not be available on site. Parents should ensure they have a plan in place should this occur.

Collection Protocols

To assist with an efficient and safe evacuation, the following car park protocols are in place

  • Do not arrive before the allocated times
  • Parents are to stay in your cars
  • Follow the directions of staff
  • Have your child/ren’s surname and year group/s clearly displayed on a piece of paper in your windscreen
  • Child/ren will be marked off a roll at pick up, do not leave until advised that they have been marked off
  • Move quickly and safely off campus
