As we wrap up Term 1, I am thrilled to share with you the remarkable journey our Year 7 students have undertaken in their transition to high school life here at Hills Grammar. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers and supportive staff, our students have admirably adapted to the rigors of their new academic environment and embraced the array of opportunities available to them.
Throughout the term, we have witnessed our students grow not only academically but also in terms of their personal well-being. From navigating new schedules to participating enthusiastically in school events and activities, each student has demonstrated resilience and determination in facing the challenges of high school.
Looking ahead to Term 2, I am excited to continue supporting our students on their educational journey, both academically and in terms of their overall well-being. As we approach the break, I encourage everyone to take the time to rest and recharge, ready to embark on the next phase of our Year 7 adventure. Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating break.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Kara van Niekerk

House chants, swimming carnivals, sporting events, plenty of assessments, and to think that was only the beginning of our Year 7 journey here at Hills Grammar. Having a lot on our plate is definitely an understatement. We worked our way through the tough transition from primary school, and high school is beginning to feel more like home. Adjusting our schedules to make room for the exciting and very thrilling events that occur in high school. My personal favourite event is what Hills Grammar calls Harmony Day. Harmony Day is on the last day of the school term, and the best part is, you can wear mufti! You bring in a gold coin and your favourite comfy clothes! The gold coin goes towards an incredibly special organisation that helps and puts your coins towards helping immigrants. The organisation also helps to eliminate racial discrimination, which is a big problem in Australia. That is a very exciting day, however, it is only the beginning of the Year 7 journey here at Hills Grammar.
