Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4, summer uniform, daylight saving, inspiring  and innovative learning opportunities and the Spring Fair (more volunteers needed if you are able to help)

Tuesday 10 October 2017 marked the 35th anniversary of the founding of the school  and naturally on such occasions we reflect, often nostalgically, and with great pride look back on all that has been achieved in this time, but also with an ever increasing enthusiasm  and dedication to ensuring the School continues to flourish in the interest of the children and young people who attend.

From the start, Hills Grammar was committed to offering an extraordinary education to its students by which their talents, passions, strengths, capacity and skills were identified, nurtured and grown. In1982 this was a lofty aim, but it is one to which we remain fully committed. Our students have access to a dedicated and professional staff, outstanding teaching, a  rich curriculum, a dynamic co-curricular program and exceptional student wellbeing,  all within an inspirational  and innovative environment.

Hills graduates are therefore able to confidently take their place in a rapidly changing world, equipped to adapt, think creatively, problem solve and effectively contribute in the vast array and number of careers and vocations they will pursue. Further, they leave our influence with a deep appreciation of the importance and power of education.

At the end of the day personal success is the ultimate measure of a quality education and it is this that drives our efforts. In partnership with parents and, as they grow and develop, increasingly with the students themselves, we endeavour to create an environment in which the value of education is apparent, whilst a student and well beyond.

In 2017

  • we have a strong commitment to our values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence
  • are intentionally and by design co-educational
  • are enthusiastically Pre K to Year 12 on the one campus
  • are independent of system or church
  • celebrate our diversity and inclusiveness
  • are forward looking and thinking

and above all else

  • we are learner and learning focused

To quote Alexander Pope’s Essay on Criticism:

‘What affects our hearts in not the exactness of the peculiar parts, tis not a lip or an eye, we beauty call, but the joint force and full result of all’

It is the joint force and full result of all of these things that make Hills Grammar unique and an extraordinary place to learn, to serve and to be a part of.  For this reason I remain so very proud of Hills Grammar and the community which started and forged our school from an idea, mud , sweat and tears, for those who attend today and in the future. Happy Anniversary Hills Grammar.
