Positive Behaviour Intervention Support Program

Sarah Black | Head of Junior School

Sarah Black has worked in a variety of Independent Schools across her career in education. Her experience includes the delivery of inclusive curriculum within mainstream settings for students with a wide variety of individual needs. Soon after completing her early career years as a teacher, Sarah began to serve her school communities as a leader of special education initiatives. She is passionate about all students from Early Childhood to Year 12 Teachers having equal access to curriculum and wellbeing programs within their school communities. As an Alumnus, Sarah enjoys reflecting upon aspects of Hills Grammar that are special, like ways in which the School has always valued the ’Hills Original’. She has also been the Metropolitan Co-ordinator of ASPECT (Autism Spectrum Australia) School Outreach program across Sydney and liaised with parents within Western Sydney establishing family centred behaviour management for students with Autism.

Kelly Boyd | Head of Student Wellbeing 7–12

Kelly is currently the Head of Student Wellbeing, Years 7-12 at Hills Grammar. Kelly has over ten years’ experience working in the Design and Innovation Department teaching a range of subjects. From 2009 – 2016 Kelly was also employed at Western Sydney University working as both a lecturer and a tutor and was involved in the development and implementation of curriculum content for pre-service teachers undertaking their Master of Teaching degree. During her time at Hills Grammar, she has worked in a number of leadership positions including Head of House. In her role as Head of Student Wellbeing 7-12 she has been involved in providing advocacy and practical support and referral to other services, such as the Learning Enrichment Team & School Psychologists, for the students in Senior School. Kelly enjoys working with students and their families through difficulties, triumphs and transition periods, using the school’s wellbeing model to guide her way.

Session Information

ECEC, Junior and Senior School Staff will be engaging in the Positive Behaviour Intervention Support Program in 2023. Kelly and Sarah will further enrich our understanding of this program in these optional Learning Lounge Program Sessions.

Please note: this session is the same session repeated twice. Please only attend one of these sessions.
