Introducing our new Head of Junior School: Mr Mark Yeowell

I am delighted to advise that I have appointed Mr Mark Yeowell as our new Head of Junior School, he will commence with us on 24 January. Mark will bring a depth and breadth of experience to the role and I anticipate will make a significant difference and contribution going forward. I am confident that the staff will work well with Mark and gain personally and professionally as a result, drawing upon his considerable expertise and wisdom as an experienced Head of Junior School. Similarly, Mark looks forward to working closely with all parents in the interest of enabling all students to realise their potential and build their capacity to achieve personal success.

Mark is an experienced and successful school leader with a passion for ensuring a high quality, holistic educational experience for every student. He has successfully led Primary / Junior Schools, within both the public and independent sectors most recently as Head of Junior School - St Anne's Campus at Gippsland Grammar School, Victoria. Prior to this Mark served as:

  • Head of Junior School - British School, Al Khubairat
  • Principal - Hardwick Primary School
  • Deputy Principal - Brookside Primary School
  • Deputy Principal - Noak Bridge Primary School
  • Teacher - Temple Sutton Primary School

Whilst he has a particular expertise and enthusiasm for Primary Education, he has worked for over 10 years as a school leader within Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 independent schools and contributed significantly to whole school development as a member of the Executive.

Mark has a successful track record of building and leading strong school teams that together relentlessly pursue excellence in all aspects of school life. He is uncompromising in his belief that outstanding teaching, a rich curriculum, dynamic co-curricular program and exceptional student wellbeing are essential foundations of a successful school where every student can achieve success both academically and more broadly. He has consistently demonstrated the capacity to raise standards and levels of student achievement and to successfully lead through periods of significant growth and change.

Mark has a strong strategic focus and is adept in developing structures, policy and processes to achieve organisational progress in pursuit of its vision and for the benefit of students. At the same time, he maintains attention to detail and has a strong relational approach to leadership and management. He has led schools through three outstanding external school inspections.

We look forward to welcoming Mark to the school in the coming weeks. Please introduce yourself to him when you see him around the School.

We are looking to 2017 with great anticipation for an excellent year of learning in Kindergarten to Year 6, characterised by a commitment to academic progress, innovation, inspiration and growing opportunities.
