Teachers’ Guild of NSW World Teachers’ Day Dinner and Awards, hosted on World Teachers’ Day, saw a number of Hills Grammar staff recognised for their contributions to education. This evening served as a tribute to teachers and support staff, celebrating their commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders.
The evening united nearly 500 educators across New South Wales to celebrate the remarkable award recipients.
Hosted at The William Inglis Hotel, the prestigious annual event recognised and celebrated the dedication, innovation, and professional contributions of exemplary.
We extend our congratulations to our very own staff who were honoured. Including Yuna Kato and Danielle Nichols, who were recognised as finalists for the Early Career Educator Award. Both educators submitted extensive portfolios and participated in a Panel Interview with representatives from the Teachers’ Guild. Additionally, Darika Pose from Learning Enrichment, Amy Ramisch from our ECEC, Nadine Newth and Lauren Reeves from our Junior School, and Helen Laidler and EJ Tao from our Senior School, received World Teachers’ Recognition Awards for their exceptional contributions to education.
Principal Mrs Karen Yager, was announced as a finalist for the PhD candidate Research Award, having presented her research at the recent Teachers’ Guild Conference alongside other outstanding finalists.
The evening included Mrs Yager, executive staff, award nominees, and their leaders, all in attendance to support the nominee finalists and award recipients. A special mention goes to Marcus Porvaznik from our Senior School, who was awarded the Teachers’ Guild Scholarship for Master of Teaching Students earlier this year, selected from a competitive pool of finalists.
To add to the celebrations of the day, it was revealed that Mrs Yager was also named as the award recipient from the Professional Teachers Council NSW. Mrs Yager will receive her Innovation Excellence Award next year for her continued efforts in implementing innovative teaching methods and curriculum design that have significantly enhanced our student learning outcomes.
