Hills Grammar was built by parents who envisioned a school where the ideals of academic excellence, outstanding teaching and a focus on the development of the whole child took precedence.
Where an extraordinary education grew extraordinary individuals. Since foundation, our parent community has been actively involved in school life, and the Hills Grammar of today is no different.
There are many ways parents are encouraged to be active within the school community. From parent learning, to volunteering to sharing experience and expertise with our students, we welcome our parents to campus to enrich our School by bringing their unique qualities, along with comprehensive knowledge of their child and family, into our vibrant learning community.
HG Parent Connect
The HG Parent Connect program brings together parent volunteers from across the year groups who assist the School in welcoming new families, organising year group social functions, supporting our Parents and Friends Association and volunteering when required.
A team of parents from each year group work together toward creating a sense of community and support for our parents and families. Each term we meet to catch up with fellow HG Parent Connectors, discuss ways we can contribute to our goal, listen to school or external speakers on a range of subjects, plan parent activities and work with PAFA on their planned fundraising and other projects.
There is an obvious synergy between the PAFA and HG Parent Connect Network with many parents active in both associations throughout their time at the School. Engaging our parents is very important to us and our HG Connectors provide an excellent channel of communication and participation.
Parents & Friends Association
PAFA hosts regular events to bring school families together and organises fundraising initiatives to contribute to the development of the School.
Over the years PAFA has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase additional equipment for our students, including Smart Boards, Minibus, Scoreboard, Sunshade sails, BBQ for the sports precinct, AV system for the Multi-purpose Hall, the operation of the Secondhand Uniform Shop and the Hills Grammar Fitness Centre.
PAFA encourages and promote closer contact, co-operation, and communication between Hills Grammar parents, students, the School Council, and staff.
