Purpose 

Are you passionate about maintaining a clean, safe, and beautiful environment? 
Hills Grammar is seeking a dedicated Facilities & Grounds Officer to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Facilities and grounds team to ensure the upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and sporting facilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • General maintenance and upkeep of school grounds
  • Lawn mowing, edging, gardening, and weed control
  • Basic repairs and handyman duties
  • Maintenance of playgrounds, sporting areas, and outdoor spaces
  • Set-up and pack-down for school events and activities
  • Monitor and report maintenance or safety issues
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas
  • Assist with rubbish removal and recycling management
  • Ensure school grounds are safe, tidy, and well-presented at all times
  • Operate basic maintenance equipment and tools safely

About You 

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping and/or maintenance (preferred)

Essential Criteria 

  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in grounds and general building maintenance
  • Ability to safely operate grounds machinery and maintenance tools
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
