Casual Music Tutor – Violin

Hills Grammar is seeking a Casual Violin Tutor to join our outstanding Music Faculty based in Kenthurst.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Teaching weekly individual violin lessons to students from Junior to Senior School. 
  • Conducting junior classroom instrumental groups where required. 
  • Potential to conduct and prepare a chamber ensemble of mixed ability musicians. 
  • Before-school, during-school, and after-school teaching opportunities available, depending on tutor availability and student allocation. 
  • An ability to teach a small group musicianship and/or music craft class as part of the school’s co-curricular program, preferably after school. 

Education and Experience 

  • Qualifications and experience in teaching violin to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 (experience across a range of levels is desirable). 
  • Strong working knowledge of music curricula. 
  • An understanding of and commitment to meeting the educational needs of a diverse range of students. 
  • Ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.
