Working at The Hills Grammar School 

The Hills Grammar School prides itself on providing teachers with the professional learning support and collegiality so important when commencing in a new school. Our Induction Program, which begins in late January, provides

  • Knowledge of how the school operates and the systems in place for student management.
  • Time for new teachers to prepare teaching programs in advance with the help of their department head and faculty colleagues.
  • Special privileges which provide the time needed to make the transition to the new workplace.
  • Classrooms at The Hills Grammar School are well designed with air conditioning, modern furniture and state-of-the-art teaching and learning resources. Teaching spaces provide an ICT rich environment with computers, data projectors plus dedicated audio visual technology.

Faculty staffrooms are well appointed and resources providing each teacher with a study desk and direct access via their own computer and phone, providing the vital resources for lesson preparation research and communications.

 

All teachers have reduced teaching loads to allow them time to develop and differentiate curriculum.

Current Positions

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the positions listed below. Short Listed applicants will be required to complete a Prohibited Employment Declaration and consent to the Working with Children Check.

JUNIOR SCHOOL TEACHERS  - Full Time

Successful applicants must exhibit genuine and demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and learning, will be innovative and creative classroom practitioners, value a collaborative model of curriculum delivery and able to teach as a member of a Stage team.

Short-listed applicants may be asked to teach a demonstration lesson as part of the selection process. Applicants must be graduates of a University having completed the required teacher training courses specified by the NSW Institute of Teachers. All applicants must be keen to be a part of a professional and dedicated staff and willing to participate in all aspects of school life including co-curricular and pastoral programs.
