The ECEC
The Early Childhood Education Centre (ECEC) is a co-educational centre catering for 3 – 5 year old children. Located within the beautiful Hills Grammar campus, our purpose-built centre is dedicated to giving your child the best start possible.
The Centre follows the Early Years Learning Framework and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which is designed to stimulate your child’s interest and to foster a love of learning in each child. The ECEC is a place where children can grow in confidence and ability as they develop friendships with other children, staff and families. Curiosity, imagination and a spirit of discovery is encouraged through innovative play and inquiry based learning experiences. Our program promotes our School's core values such as empathy, compassion, accountability, honesty, service, integrity, respect, acceptance, fairness and excellence.
Specialist Teachers
Specialist teachers facilitate lessons in Music, Foreign Language and Human Movement, enabling the children develop their skills in a range of different areas.
Information Technology
The ECEC curriculum is enriched by the integration of communication technology such as an interactive whiteboard, cameras, flip videos and computers. We view understanding and application of new technology as a vital part of a child’s daily learning.
School Readiness Program
The school readiness program enables a seamless transition into Kindergarten at The Hills Grammar School. Early numeracy and literacy experiences play a vital role in our program, along with developing independence, social and emotional skills in each child.
Kindergarten Orientation
The children participate in an orientation program prior to commencing Kindergarten at The Hills Grammar School. Regular visits to the Junior School Campus and participation in school events such as Book week and assemblies ensure all children are confident and comfortable to begin their Kindergarten year.
Quick Facts:
Opening: 7:30am – 6:00pm, 48 weeks per year (closing for a four week period in December and January)
Location: Gate 4, The Hills Grammar School. It is designed for easy access to allow a quick, hassle free, drop off and pick up of your child.
Staff / Child Ratio: One staff member for every ten children. Specialist teachers from the Junior School also teach various lessons throughout the week.
Uniform: The children wear the School sports uniform, which is comfortable for them to move around in. This can be purchased from the Argyle and Tweed Uniform Shop, located at the School.
Fees: The fee is $90.00 per day. The children are provided with breakfast, lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea.
Child Care Benefit: You may be entitled to Child Care Benefits (including 50% Tax Rebate) from The Federal Government depending upon your circumstances. Parents will need to contact the Family Assistance Office to register and establish your entitlements. Fact sheets are available at www.familyassist.gov.au.
Enrolment Procedure: You will need to complete an ECEC Enrolment Application Form as this is a point of entry into the School. The ECEC enrolment application form is now available online.
Children enrolled in the ECEC automatically move to kindergarten at the School when ready.
The Application Fees are: $200 first child/ $150 second child. Upon acceptance into the School and ECEC Program parents are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $1750. More details and due date will be indicated in the Letter of Offer.
If your application for ECEC placement is unsuccessful, this application also places your child/ren on the Kindergarten waiting list as appropriate.
