ECEC and Kindergarten

Early Childhood Education Centre

Our Early Childhood Education Centre is a modern co-educational centre catering for children from three to five years old.

Our Early Childhood Education Centre is a modern co-educational centre catering for children from three to five years old. We have a newly renovated, five room facility with a daily capacity of 79 places. We are very proud of our ‘exceeding’ classification awarded by National Quality Framework in 2016, and then again in 2019. This rating represents our commitment to giving our children the best start possible and laying strong foundations for lifelong learning. Our Centre has been rated as Sun Smart by the Cancer Council .

Our teaching is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy where children learn through creative play and enquiry. Their graduation into Kindergarten is seamless with a sequential transition program. The ECEC children have the added advantage of access to the entire campus, its staff and specialist facilities; library and technology, theatre, performance centre and ovals, just to mention a few. Daily life in the ECEC is rich, positive and stimulating, led by highly qualified staff committed to providing individual and group learning experiences for the children and excellent communication to parents and carers.

All enrolment enquiries can be addressed to enrolments@hillsgrammar.nsw.edu.au

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students embrace, with the guidance and nurture of their teachers, the attributes of  being inquirers, courageous and open minded in their approach to becoming lifelong learners.

By the end of their Kindergarten year, our children have become confident in their ability to function within the routines of school life. They have learned to share their world with other children and adults and have formed friendships which are often lifelong. Within the context of the Australian Curriculum in NSW Key Learning Areas: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Creative Arts and Languages, learning should be, and is, exciting, challenging and rewarding from the start. It is a joy to watch Kindergarten wonder, question and discover for themselves, the richness of the world around them. With the nurturing guidance of their teachers, Kindergarten students embrace the attributes of being inquirers; courageous and open-minded in their approach to becoming lifelong learners.
